Are you ready for the unknown?

The unknown starts with familiar and unfamiliar Dutch contestants. In the first episode they go rafting on the azure-blue Soča river.

The Soča river (Soča)

This is the most beautiful river in Slovenia and flows from Mount Triglav in a wide loop towards the coast. In summer the Soča river is very popular for fun on the water, including rafting. Adventure amid stunning nature.

Goldhorn, Zlatorog

In the first elimination they referred to the Slovenian myth of Zlatorog, the buck Goldhorn. If you would like to see the statue of this buck, you will find this statue on the beautiful Lake Bohinj. In summer you can also enjoy a lovely swim there!

Bovec and Boka

In the second episode they take the plane from the airfield of the little town of Bovec. From the plane you can see the impressive Boka waterfall.

Boka waterfall

This 144-metre-high waterfall lies right by the road and can be reached via a short walk. From a viewpoint you can admire and photograph the waterfall.

Church of St. Anthony

The team then follows the road towards Kobarid. There you will find the Church of St. Anthony. This impressive church is the first waypoint of this episode.

After this they continue along the beautiful road by the Soča river towards Tolmin. They stay in the wonderful nature around the village of Volarje.

In the final the couples take the ski lift from Bovec to Kanin (Bovec – Kanin gondola). The ride gives you a stunning view over the valley in which Bovec lies. And in winter you can enjoy fantastic skiing there.

Where in Slovenia was the unknown filmed?

We had hoped to see the many beautiful parts of Slovenia in this series. Unfortunately, they chose to film everything in the same region. All episodes of this TV series were filmed near the Soča river, between the towns of Bovec and Tolmin. This is a beautiful region in the west of Slovenia.
